Rock and Roll Myths?

February 29th, 2008
Jake5282 asked:

Not a joke, but I know my friends will like this…

ROCK AND ROLL MYTHS…………..

1: ‘Mama’ Cass choking on a sandwich
When ‘Mama’ Cass Elliot died in her London flat in 1974 at the age of 32, a hasty postmortem suggested she had choked on her own vomit while chomping a sandwich in bed. At 5′ 5″ and 240 pounds, it was easy to believe that - like a female version of Monty Python’s Mr Creosote - Elliot had simply gambled on one mouthful too many. Not so. The coroner’s report after her death concluded that Cass died of massive heart failure, brought on by obesity and the strains of crash dieting. Though a sandwich may well have been found at her bedside, the autopsy revealed no evidence of food in her trachea. Tragically, it appears she died peckish.

2: Marilyn Manson starring in ‘The Wonder Years’
This fuels every parent’s fear that the most innocuous geek-child can go stone bad. Did the young Brian Warner (aka Mr Manson) play Paul Pfeiffer, goofy pal of Kevin Arnold, in the schmaltzy rites-of passage TV show? ‘It’s kind of irrelevant whether these rumours are true or not,’ quoth Manson. Well actually, Marilyn, it’s not irrelevant to Josh Saviano, who really did play Paul Pfeiffer.
3: The Beatles’ spliff in Buckingham Palace
Sometime after our four young heroes bounced into the Palace in October 1965 to receive their MBEs, John Lennon claimed they’d shared a toke in the loos. Not the most reliable witness - he once claimed he wrote ‘Eleanor Rigby’ - Lennon later ‘fessed up, admitting ‘we’d have been far too scared to do it’. McCartney, meanwhile, remembers simply having a ’sly ciggie’ with the chaps to calm nerves.
4: Keef’s blood transfusion
Keen to clean up for a European tour, Richards reportedly replaced his poisoned old claret with an infusion of healthy blood in a Swiss clinic in September 1973. In reality, it was probably only haemodialysis, which filters impurities from the bloodstream. ‘Someone asked me how I cleaned up, so I said I had my blood completely changed,’ Richards said. ‘I was fucking sick of answering that question, so I gave them a story.’
5: Stevie Nicks having cocaine blown up her bum
It’s tempting to believe Fleetwood Mac’s queen bee followed her addiction to such deliciously depraved depths - but sadly, untrue. ‘That’s absurd,’ said Nicks in 2001. ‘Maybe it came about because people knew I had such a big hole in my nose. Let’s put a belt through my nose, because that’s how big the hole is.’ So she just talks through her arse, then. Maybe.
6: Robert Johnson’s pact with the devil
Famously, Johnson sold his soul to the devil in order to play guitar like a demon. You want prima facie evidence? How about ‘Me and the Devil Blues’, and the fact that young Robert was a poor guitarist whose improvement was remarkable. Actually, he used that little known voodoo technique ‘practice’, and was tutored by a bluesman called Ike Zimmerman. Not Satan.
7: Jacko and the elephant man
Reports surfaced in 1987 that Wacko had offered $50,000 for the remains of the Victorian patient Joseph Merrick, aka the Elephant Man. The offer may have been genuine, but Jackson doesn’t own the bones. Merrick’s organs were destroyed in an air raid on the Royal London Hospital during the Second World War. Casts of his head, an arm and a foot survived, but were not up for sale.
8: Sid checks in at Heathrow
Punk romantics believe that Sid’s mum scattered his ashes over Nancy’s grave in Philadelphia. It’s more likely that Ma Vicious arrived back at Heathrow with his remains. Malcolm McLaren claims she knocked them over in the arrivals lounge; hence the fanciful myth that Sid’s essence still circulates, wafting through the air vents and moving among the travellers.
9: Richey Edwards lives
Ten years on, Richey’s disappearance remains imbued with a Lucan-like mythology by those who love a good mystery. Given the extent of his problems - self-harm, alcoholism, anorexia - and the fact that numerous sightings have amounted to nothing, it’s safe to assume he’s probably no longer alive, sadly. But don’t expect the rumours to evaporate.
10: Led Zep and the mud shark
‘A pretty young groupie with red hair was tied to the bed,’ claimed Stephen Davis in Hammer of the Gods. ‘Led Zeppelin proceeded to stuff pieces of shark into her ****** and rectum.’ Not quite. Zep did catch sharks from the window of their hotel, but the pesce in question was actually a red snapper, while the perpetrator was road manager Richard Cole.
I have added Alstair to my contacts, now I can go make comment about his questions/answers…do not get mad people, get even lol!!!

can any one check my grammer, if it flows,if you get lost, Critiques thanks?

afarmboy87 asked:

Hello my name is Bryan, and I am writing this letter as I have found myself to be in a bit of a predicament. I believe my situation I a little unique, so forgive me if you find my cover letter a little unconventional. I am looking for full time employment, and will need to relocate. As this may not be uncommon, bare with me one moment as I explain. I have a wife and kids in a country other than mine. After a three year wait, it was planned and expected, that my family would be able to immigrate in to the united states, in June two thousand eight. Some unexpected situations arose, and now my family will be unable to apply until two thousand thirteen! With a one year old boy I have hardy seen, and another one on the way, I am saying good by to my job, selling every thing I own, and saying hello to the international job market.
Who am I and what can I do for you, This will be difficult to sum up, as I definitely due not fall into the norm! At 38 this is my first cover letter to prelude my first resume. I was raised within a multimillion dollar muti-corparation family. We owned several farms, a large trucking company, excavating business and a landfill. Buy the age of twelve, I would be performing independently, tasks and operations, that a typical person may be faced with after training in there mid to late twenties. By the time I was twenty, I was producing show quality cars in my own automotive business. I went on to work, or contract, in almost every facet of residential construction. I now find myself behind a desk quite often, as I do purchasing for a industrial construction firm, as well maintain there fleet and repair all equipment and tools.
I do not come neatly packaged with a degree for you to hang on your wall, or with a number of years study in a particular field. I come very rounded, very mindful of ramifications of any move, or any situation, in any type of business. Being a businessman my self I can appreciate the purpose, forethought, planning, preparation, expense, implementation and the anticipated change or improvement of any given job. I am not at the apex of my career, and certainly my collar is still blue. I have never been worried about what time lunch is, or dwell on those days where you put in nineteen hours for eight hours pay. I am a company man, from a company family, and I know what it takes.
I am contacting you because you offer employment outside the United States. As I may be qualified for a particular opening you have posted, you may want to consider me for a opening where I miss the mark. As I am very motivated, and always eager to learn. Encountering a place where I can work, live, and reunite my family is paramount. That said do not feel reluctant to offer me a menial position. You will quickly recognize my abilities people always do.

Thanks Bryan
Thank for your input and witty comments. I have never written a cover letter, I did read some outlines today. State purpose, note why you would be a candidate, create a desire for them to turn the page and see what your qualifications are. But I have had 30 jobs that I can remember, from a teacher to ditch digger, a heavy equipment operator, to motorcycle salesman. I am currently employed in very good position. I plan on sending 200 or more letters to companies who have positions for some specific title warehouse foreman or customer relation or shift manager all of which are in new Zeeland for example, and there paying to fly me and my family out there, that’s expensive! I have to prove with out a shadow of a doubt, that I am the guy their looking for. I have forgotten more about those jobs than some guy with a masters degree and three years experience knows, but I do not have 6 years in a specific position to sale them, so I have to paint a picture with words, or get a snapshot of my
life on one page, its tough. Look at my week for example, I wined and dined some vendors for pricing, and adjusted my inventory for anticipated workload, For my company. I did some computer diagnostic work on some 2007 trucks in our fleet, and rebuilt a pressure washer. At home I bailed 900 bales of hay, put new floor timbers in the barn, and bid a job to due some commercial wiring on my own, who dose that in a week! I certainly am not the most talented guy on the earth by know means, but I do have a unique past, and a abnormal amount of abilities so I’m always told. I am applying for the rarest of jobs those only out of the country, where I can relocate and reunite my family, a very odd situation Which by the way needs to be told, as they all want to know why your applying for a job out of your country; and the world is going to force me to write a conventional cover letter! At this point in my life, what is conventional about my life or needs.
I appreciate all of you input and
heed all you advice, but I am questing the common principles. Is it not possible a person with a uniquely diverse past, in a very peculiar situation, trying to gain employment in a foreign country, for the sole propose reuniting a family. Appealing to employers who facing the toughest hiring situation, overseas placement, none of this justify a cover letter a little uncommon? maybe not critique away

Hi,I took my little yorkie puppy 7 months old to the vet on the 26th dec as he had a hump on his lower back?

February 20th, 2008
Larry Woofie asked:

and was not feeling his usually playful happy self. The vet said that he had a back spasm and gave him an injection of anti-inflammatorys. He also gave me a 4 day supply of anti-inflammatorys. After the four days my little dog had not improved so i had to bring him to a new vet (as me and woof had been away from home for christmas) and she gave him steroid medicines for back pain and said he had no temperature. She said that she would x-ray him friday if no improvement to find the problem. Woof yesterday evening appeared to have improved so as I had done since he got sick (as he got cold very easily) I brought him in his bed up my bedroom and placed him on the floor beside my bed so if he needed to go bathroom he would wake me and the heat was on in the bedroom all night for him. He had eaten, drank, and went the toilet that evening/night before bed. I woke up this morning at 10.45 and thought it funny Woof had not woke me for toilet. I called him twice no respond and moved to check him and found my little pet was death. My boyfriend heard him breathing quite shallow around 5.30 but he sometimes snores and talks in his sleep so he thought nothing of it. He was quite all night never made a peep. I am so upset he was my best friend his friendship meant a lot to me. He used to come everywhere with me. He had all his shots and I had taken him to two different vets and both gave the same opinion back pain. It was logical because he responded to the anti-inflammatory injection well on the night of the 26th and was acting like himself. I also had been in my family home for christmas and Woof had been quite active playing with my other dog at the family home so logic would dictate he hurt his back playing so much. I was offered a post mortem by a very shocked vet who could not understand it at all. I felt that I didn’t want this for my little pup as it meant that I could not bury him so i chose not to. Of course I am still so shocked at the freakness of this. I was wondering has anybody every heard this to happen to another poor little dog?
Unexplained sudden puppy death
Is it possible my yorkie had a Liver shunt? It effects the nervous system and makes the poor little yorkie depressed. Should I tell the breeder? I recently saw a ad in our local paper of the same breeder selling puppies again

Fitness. 6 months enough time to revamp muscle tone?

February 15th, 2008
echo12283 asked:

I’m a 25 yr old woman, about 20 lbs heavier than I was at my super-skinny high school self, and looking to seriously tone-up within 6 months. I want to be TONED, not stick-thin. I realize everyone responds differently, but is this enough time to realistically make a marked improvement — provided I do at least 30 min decent cardio 3-4 times/week and challenging weight training on the other 3-4 days? Just for general info… I am 5′8″, NOT seriously overweight, and I don’t currently work out regularly, but I’m not freakishly out of shape – just a little flabbier than I’d like. ;) I have never been super athletic, therefore I’m feeling slightly lost because I’ve never actually achieved a lot of muscle definition before. Since this all takes time, I want to make sure the effort I put in is in the most effective direction possible and make sure this goal is realistic.

I’d be especially interested in hearing from people who have achieved similar goals or have tips for success. Thanks!
